ABOUT HOLE SPONSORSHIP
The Alano Club East Annual Golf outing is our largest and most important fund raiser. We collect money from our registrations, that pays for the event. But most of the fundraising is made from our Sponsorships.
If you can sponsor a hole, it makes a big difference for us at the end of the day. In doing so you are supporting the East Club.
We are grateful to all of you who attend and participate, the volunteers who help, and particularly, our Vice-President and his wife. They do a marvelous job putting this event together and making it fun.
About Us
What is the Alano Club East?
We are a 501(c)(3) Michigan Non-Profit Corporation based in Lansing, Michigan. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing place to attend meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. These meetings are to assist in the rehabilitation of alcoholics and others affected by alcoholism. The Alano Club East, like most Alano clubs, is owned solely by its members and funded entirely through room pledges, membership dues, retail sales, donations and other fundraising efforts.
Do you or someone in your life have a problem with alcohol?
If you find yourself struggling with this question, our experience shows that only you can decide. Is alcohol affecting your life? Do you ever think about not being able to stop? Denial can be a powerful force against a person who is struggling by themselves with alcohol and its affects.
The Alano Club East provides meeting space and a welcoming environment for recovery from alcoholism by providing meeting space, a coffee shop for AA and Alanon fellowship in between meetings, and space for sober functions such as dances, talent shows, live music, craft shows and other types of gatherings.
The people that we serve, in many cases, have given up on themselves and of the possibility of restoring their lives. We provide hope through the example of our own lives by living the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and Alanon.
Meetings for those suffering from alcoholism and those affected by it
We have AA and Alanon meetings from most days and on holidays, when family is most important, we are family. We stay open 24 hours a day on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, staffed by volunteers who offer a warm welcome and a kind word at a time when people in crisis are most vulnerable. Since COVID, our schedule has varied and changed from time to time. Please check the "Weekly Meetings" link on the top menu to see when meetings are occurring. We're hoping to open back up to our pre-COVID schedule soon! Stay Tuned!
Our History
We have been operating at this location since we opened in December of 1986, serving over 700 people each week, year in and year out. Since the doors have opened, we have served over one million people in this community.
When one considers the families that have been given back a son or a daughter, mother or a father, sister or a brother, we have positively impacted millions of people by providing a safe and nurturing place for people, facing the challenge of alcoholism, to change their lives.
